- PostFramtidens mobilnät(2012) Bergman, David; Billemar, Jakob; Hallberg, William; Memari, Hassan; Tutkur, Elmin; Wernersson, Joakim G.; Chalmers tekniska högskola / Institutionen för mikroteknologi och nanovetenskap; Chalmers University of Technology / Department of Microtechnology and NanoscienceThe purpose of this project was to study how the interference between two antennas in a MIMO system affects the linearity of the power amplifiers powering the antennas. For the MIMO system, two power amplifiers and two antennas were constructed and designed using the software ADS and a software defined radio was constructed using the platform USRP and the software LabVIEW. The result was that the interference between the antennas affects the linearity of the power amplifiers powering the antennas adversely and a reasonable theory was that the interaction decreases inversely proportional to the square of the distance.
- PostKonstruktion och analys av trådlös laserbaserad kommunikationsänk(2017) Helmius, Henrik; Hansson, Peter; Nordin, Oscar; Peterson, Arvid; Chalmers tekniska högskola / Institutionen för mikroteknologi och nanovetenskap; Chalmers University of Technology / Department of Microtechnology and NanoscienceAs more and more services are competing for bandwidth, the space in the radio frequency spectrum gets smaller and smaller. One part of the solution to this potentially big problem is to use optical signals instead. Optical communication through fiber optics is a well researched area while wireless optical communication ha limited implementation. In this report, the construction and development of a wireless optical communications link between two computers is presented. The purpose of the link is to improve the basis of future development of wireless optical communication. The end product has the ability to transmit data over 30 m, at 15 kBit/s with a Bit Error Rate under 3 10 6. Data has also successfully been transmitted at higher bitrates, up to 17 kBit/s while experiencing more error bits. The reason for not sending data at higher bitrates is frequency limitations induced in the available components. This has been done using a link based on a sender where data is encoded in the light from a laser diode and a receiver where this light has been read and decoded. To be able to do this, electrical circuits, optics and software has been created. The link has then been analyzed and evaluated with regard to its weaknesses, strengths as well as possibilities for further development
- PostWireless Transmission of HDMI signals(2013) Jacob, Rosén; Eriksson, Sven; Larsson, Mikael; Chalmers tekniska högskola / Institutionen för mikroteknologi och nanovetenskap; Chalmers University of Technology / Department of Microtechnology and NanoscienceA growing trend of physical separation of digital content and human interfaces is driving the demand for wireless solutions for streaming high bit rate data from one unit to another. This gives the end user freedom of placing equipment wherever wanted without any thought of problems with cables. The goal is to serialize and later deserialize HDMI signals to enable it to be sent over a radio link. A Xilinx Spartan-6 LTX is used as a hardware platform. To limit the scope of the project it was decided that communication would only go one way. This prevents the negotiation between the HDMI source and monitor from taking place. The negotiation has to be implemented on the hardware platform. A system design for serialization and sending of the serialized HDMI data was successfully created. Most of the different parts of the system have been verified to work individually, but not together. A fully working prototype is not far away.
