Partille kommun har som önskemål att ett hotell ska finnas i Partille i enlighet med visionen för år 2035, om att gå från en förort till att bli en förstad. Idag finns endast två övernattningsalternativ av vandrarhemskaraktär i kommunen. Syftet med projektet är därför att utreda om en hotellverksamhet i Partille är möjlig. Vidare utreds hur Partille kommun arbetar med affärsdriven samhällsutveckling där kommunal strategi möjliggör en önskad samhällsplanering. Rapporten redovisar fyra faktorer som är avgörande vid val av lokalisering av ett nytt hotell; Tillväxt av befolkning, Tillväxt i näringsliv, Dragningskraft på privata marknaden samt Beläggningsgrad på minst 55 %. Dessa faktorer har utifrån en omvärldsanalys av Partille och dess närområde utreds vid bedömningen om ett hotell är möjligt eller ej. Informationssamling har skett genom kvalitativa intervjuer med politiker och tjänstemän på Partille kommun samt branschkunniga och verksamma inom hotellbranschen. Vidare har en enkätundersökning med näringsidkare i kommunen genomförts samt en litteraturinsamling av referensobjekt och tidigare utredningar angående hotelletablering. Projektet visar att Partille kommun befinner sig i ett strategiskt läge i den expansiva Göteborgsregionen där antalet invånare och besökare ökar stadigt. Detta ger i sig ett underlag för ett hotell i Partille men som närliggande kommun till Göteborg konkurrerar även de två orterna med varandra. Antalet hotellrum har i Göteborg ökat markant de senaste åren vilket innebär att behovet av ett hotell i kranskommunerna idag är lågt. Kundunderlag i form av målgrupper har dock identifierats i rapporten vilken resulterar i att ett koncepthotell anses vara den mest lönsamma investeringen för ett hotell i Partille i den närmsta framtiden. I rapporten redovisas förslag till olika koncept samt när ett hotell är möjligt. Detta följs av rekommendationer av vilka faktorer kommunen bör arbeta med för att öka kundunderlaget för hotell. In accordance with the vision for Partille 2035, about going from being a suburb to become a location with city qualities, the municipality of Partille would want a hotel to be established. Today there are only two accommodation options in the municipality which both offers a hostel standard. The aim of the project is therefore to investigate if a hotel is possible to be established in Partille. Further the project aim to investigate how the municipality of Partille work with business-driven community development where municipal strategy could enable desired community planning. The report details the four factors determining the choice of location of a new hotel; growth of population, growth in industry, appeal on private market and occupancy rate of at least 55%. Based on these factors Partille and its surrounding areas have been analysed to assess whether a hotel establishment is possible or not. Gathering of information has been done through interviews with politicians and officials at Partille municipality as well as with industry professionals and active people in the hotel industry. Furthermore, a survey has been conducted with traders in Partille and a literature review has been made through studies of reference objects and earlier studies investigating hotel establishments. The project shows that Partille is in a strategic location in the expansive Gothenburg region where the number of residents and visitors is steadily increasing. This in itself is a basis for a hotel in Partille but being a nearby municipality of Gothenburg is also negative since the two locations are competitors. The number of hotel rooms in Gothenburg has increased significantly in recent years, which means that there is a low need for a hotel in neighbouring municipalities today. A customer base in the form of target groups have been identified in the report, which results in the conclusion that a concept hotel is considered the most profitable investment for a hotel in Partille in the near future. The report propose different concepts as well as when a hotel establishment is considered possible. This is followed by recommendations of which factors the municipality should focus their work on to increase the factors that influence the customer base for a hotel.
