Unga är inte lika väletablerade på bostadsmarknaden som de var förr. Detta på grund av den långsamma byggtakten i storstadsregionerna, vilket också har lett till att en renoveringsvåg sköljt genom Sverige och således gjort även det äldre bostadsbeståndet dyrt och svåråtkomligt. Syftet med arbete är att undersöka de kvaliteter som finns i att bygga yteffektivt. Detta som en del till att öka möjligheterna för ungas etablering på bostadsmarknaden. För att besvara arbetets syfte delas det in i tre delsyften. Där det första är att undersöka problematiken för ungas situation idag. För att få en inblick i problematiken har aktuell litteratur studerats, sökningar i databaser har genomförts samt deltagande på olika bostadsseminarier. Följt av det andra delsyftet som är att göra en kvalitetsundersökning på 52 planlösningar baserat på en egen konstruerad mall. Undersökningen görs för att bekantas med hur förhållandet mellan bostadsutformning och kvaliteter ser ut i praktiken. Det tredje delsyftet är att genom en skissprocess framställa tre planlösningsförslag. Utformandet av kvalitetsundersökningens mall har skett genom att analysera dagens krav och lagar i kombination med undersökningar om vad unga efterfrågar. Denna mall har i omgångar arbetats om efter synpunkter från handledare och opponentgrupper. Ett femtiotal planlösningar har analyserats utefter dessa kvaliteter där den resulterade statistiken sedan sammanställts. Vidare har statistiken och efterfrågningar från unga tagits med i skissprocessen. I detta skede har ett flertal val och avgränsningar varit tvunget att genomföras. Resultatet av denna studie utgörs av tre planlösningsförslag för hur yteffektiviserat boende kan utformas med kvaliteter baserade på ungas efterfrågan. Dessa tre förslag presenteras i olika storlekar som uppfyller olika bostadskvaliteter. En slutsats som dragits är att frågan kring bostadsproblematiken är komplex och beror på olika faktorer. Det finns inga universallösningar, men resultatet i arbetet skulle kunna vara en del av en lösning. ABSTRACT Young people are not as well established in the housing market as they were in the past. This is due to the slow rate of construction in the city regions, which also has led to renovation of older properties thus made even the older housing expensive and scarce. The purpose of the report is to examine the qualities found in space-efficient buildings. This is to try to increase the opportunities for young people establish themselves in the housing market. To answer the purpose of the report is divided in to three specific aims. Where the first is to examine the situation young people are in to today. To gain an insight into the housing problems literature has been studied, database searches have been conducted, and participation in various residential seminars. Followed by the second subsidiary aim which is to make a qualitative study of 52 floor plans with the help of a self-designed quality evaluation template. The survey is implemented to get acquainted with how the relationship between housing design and quality looks like in practice. The third subsidiary aim is a sketch process where three floor plans proposals are designed. The formulation of the quality survey points have been made by analyzing the current requirements and laws, combined with studies on what young people want. These points have had several rounds of redrafts to after discussions with our supervisor and the opponent group. Fifty layouts have been analyzed along these qualities and statistics have been compiled to see trends. These results have been incorporated, in the sketching process, a number of choices and boundaries had to be implemented at this stage. To analyze the many floor plans of small compact accommodation provides a great reference when starting the sketching stage of the project. The result of this study consists of three plan proposal for how space efficient housing can be designed based on young people’s demands. These three proposals are presented in different sizes that meet the different housing qualities. A conclusion made is that the housing problem is complex and there are various factors involved. There are no universal solutions to the problem but the result in this rapport might be part of a solution.
