Sammanfattning
Investigation HTM (halftime modification) of the main machinery on Fast supply vessel type 662 S aims to create a support for decision and action alternatives for FMV 's continued work with the mid-term modification of the Fast supply vessel type 662 S, that are included in the Amphibious corps (Navy) maintenance units. Halftime modification carried out on the basis of "end of life" problems, where the manufacturer have difficulties to supply spare parts due to the age, and the engines large amount of running hours. This together with new regulations and other life-prolonging measures in a lifecycle perspective, not only consisting of new propulsion, have to be taken in consideration. Main engines (3*Scania DSI14) must be replaced with new engines which have to correspond to FMV:s and the operating units requirements. Requirements represented are based primarily from existing rules and thereby constraints on mass and environment. In addition to this, the geometrical conditions of the engine room on the ship type sets limits. In the investigation current regulations, FMV requirements and the physical conditions onboard, including drawings has been studied. In consideration of the findings from the survey of condition, requirements and drawings, a number of potential suppliers of marine diesels were asked about possible and available alternatives for replacement engines, that correspond to established criteria covered by these conditions, requirements and drawings. The options are presented in tables for comparison and weighed in a matrix. In the discussion, options are rendered by what engine is the best to meet consisting requirements, drawings and data. Hereby an examination is performed to evaluate what changes that are needed in some surrounding systems to meet the new engines requirements. In the conclusion, the option is presented in terms of which and why the selected engine best meets current criteria based on the survey, and its ability to integrate into the system.
