Sammanfattning
The Swedish Sea Rescue Society, SSRS, is developing a small semi-autonomous tug-vessel, a so-called Towpod. The Towpod is intended to be used in benign conditions for less demanding and non-life-threatening rescue missions. To save the organization time and resources, it is intended that the unmanned boat should be remote-controlled from land. This project aims to design a winch that makes it possible for boaters in need of towing, safely connect to the Towpod using an easily accessible towline. Once the anchorage is completed, the driver of the Towpod takes over and tows them to shore. The project resulted in a theoretical construction, design and function description. Due to the Towpod still being under development and the current state of the society, prototypes of the winch could not be manufactured and physical tests could not be performed.
