dc.description.abstractThis report deals with numerical analysis of a very broad band log-periodic antenna feed for use in dual reflector systems. The feed is analyzed using Method of Moment and FDTD based software for comparison. Suggestions for design modifications that increase performance are proposed. Different designs of a dewar for the feeds are proposed and analyzed. A design with small volume and small reduction of efficiency is presented. The application is for future large radio telescope arrays such as the Allen Telescope Array (ATA) and the Square Kilometer Array (SKA).
