dc.description.abstractTo prove that fresh nuclear fuel can be stored in the dry storage facilities at the nuclear power plants it is necessary to fulfill the requirements from Strålsäkerhetsmyndigheten. This can be proved in different ways. In this thesis it is done by using the Monte Carlo method based computer code MCNP version 4c2. The objective is to prove that the fuel bundle designs 'GE14 Nordic' and 'Atrium 10XM' can be stored safely in the dry storage facilities of the Oskarshamn nuclear power plant. Results from the simulations shows interesting characteristics well suited for further academic research as well as satisfactory general results which proves the possibility to store the desired designs in the dry storage facilities at the plant.
