dc.description.abstract	Carlo Scarpa is the architect behind the modern renovation of the garden and part of the ground floor for the Venetian institution Querini Stampalia. Scarpa is admired for his balanced combination of old and new elements, as well as on a great workmanship of the materials. The model represents the bridge in front of the building which connects Palazzo Querini Stampalia to the neighboring plaza Campo Santa Maria Formosa. The purpose of building this model has been to explore a part of the historical building Palazzo Querini Stampalia on a closer scale, where one discovered aspect of the bridge was how Scarpa made an otherwise heavy construction lighter by the use of spaces in the bridge's lower construction. Some of the materials used in the model are plywood, metal, MDF and birch.
