Sammanfattning

The report evaluates important factors when choosing comfort cooling systems in shop premises. The production systems that have been studied are district cooling and compressor cooling. These have been combined with both water and air distribution systems, which gives a total of four alternatives for comfort cooling in the shops or shopping malls. Important factors that have been analysed are appropriate distribution systems, investment cost, operating cost, flexibility, environmental impact and future prospects. The different combinations of production and distribution systems have been assessed depending on how well they meet certain requirements within the different evaluation parameters. These points are used to formulate a model for evaluation of the different system combinations. The user of the model sets a priority depending on how important each factor is for the choice of comfort cooling system. By multiplication and summing up a final figure is given where each alternative of cooling system has a total score, depending on how well the system meets the expected priorities. The objective of the report and the model is to provide thoughts and understanding regarding choices of comfort cooling systems for designers as well as clients, that normally aren’t taken with in assessments but that is important both from systems, local and society perspectives. The conclusions of the report are that none of the system combinations has a definite advantage in general and that the action is to decrease the internal heat generation and thereby the need for purchased cooling energy.
