Embedded systems are usually executing under hard real-time constrains. This project is to create one demonstrating embedded system as a lab practice for “Real time systems” course. The hardware is used to make music notes and using software to manage and schedule the notes to a polyphonic melody. The executing results can be caught easily by listening to the melody. If some real time violation happens it will mess the melody and it will be possible to appreciate hearing it by the students. The demonstrating system is programmed using C language, and the target platform is PowerPC-equipped G2 control board, which is developed by the “GAST” project.
