dc.description.abstract | The purpose of this thesis project was to explore the application of system-generated insight and research what needs to be considered when designing such systems. The project was exploratory in nature, and the process was designed to explore many different concepts and design challenges within the field. The scope of the project was very broad, as few other academic studies have looked into designing these types of systems. The broad scope allowed for a general exploration of the design space to find what design challenges there are. The thesis resulted in three artifacts: a high-fidelity prototype, a design language used for communicating the design, and a set of guidelines. The guidelines provide recommendations in order to aid the design of system-generated insights and the interaction with them, and cover the design process, general boundaries to be considered, as well as more insight specific guidelines. There are still many possibilities for further study within the field, but the hope is that the foundation built in this thesis will work as a stepping stone for future research. | sv |
