As metal Additive Manufacturing is shifting from research and development towards the real production processes, the demands on cost effectiveness start to become a major issue. Since the materials used in this technology are expensive, their recycling is a straightforward way to lower operating costs significantly. In this project, deterioration of AM Corrax powder in recycling in the Selective Laser Melting process was analysed and the possibility to recreate it in the furnace aging conditions was evaluated. The furnace aging was used to simulate the oxidation of powder in the process. The impact of general oxidation on the built component’s properties was also assessed.
