Sammanfattning
With the development of low carbon energy systems, microgrids are widely used in remote areas, island, and weak grid regions where power supply is not stable. Wind and solar energy are abundant in these areas. Combining them with energy storage helps achieve clean and near zero carbon power supply. Our thesis studies a 0,4 kV islanded microgrid with wind power, photovoltaic generation, and battery storage. The system is built and simulated in PSCAD. Three conditions are tested: power surplus, power balance, and power shortage, to study how the system handles power voltage and frequency. Wind and photovoltaic units use PQ control to regulate active and reactive power. Wind and solar provide the main power, while storage smooths fluctuations and keeps the system stable. The results show that the storage charges when there when there is excess power and discharges when power is not enough. This keeps supply and demand balanced. Voltage and frequency remain stable during the whole process, which shows the control strategy is effective and reliable.
