dc.description.abstract | E-band has lately turned available for cell phone providers in Europe. Ericsson has today working mini links at these frequencies but they are expensive to manufacture. Here the QFN 4x4 plastic package is examined for E-band performance. This package meets Borås production line and is therefore cost effective to produce. Old measurements and simulations have been validated and compared and new matching networks for two sub frequencies have been designed. Solutions for the 71-76 GHz band and for 81-86 GHz band have been reached. The simulations show that a pass band with return loss less than 15 dB and insertion loss less than 1 dB can be achieved for both sub frequencies. Last these matching networks were simulated on a computer with higher accuracy. However the last validation simulations with higher precision did not confirm the realized pass band performance for the higher sub band. | |
