Hospitalized patients often feel left out and uninformed during their treatment. Published
scientific research and statistics points at several factors where digitization is
able to make way for a better and foremost patient-centered healthcare. In order to
promote a healthcare that is considered patient-centered it is furthermore of importance
to make them participants in their healing. The findings of a performed design
process promotes the fact that it is not only vital to thorough understand their needs
and expressed requests, but also provide features for comfort. Furthermore, six categories
of features have been defined in: Accessibility, Amenities, Hospital Services,
Modularity, Privacy and Treatment Services. Suggestions have been provided for
each category and are motivated by published scientific research as well as findings
from the performed design work.
