Sammanfattning
A trend seen in the production industry in recent years is to make processes more digital. Many of the oldest Swedish industries are currently using old, ineffective methods in their processes. To meet future demand and stay competetive, industries are now aiming to implement more modern technologies. This report aims to investigate applications of Augmented Reality (AR) within the aggregates production industry, since previous research has shown that implementation of AR in these industries is a way to increase profitability. Information is gathered by interviewing people currently working in the industry and later processedinbrainstormingsessionstodeveloptheoreticalbutconcretewaysto implement AR. These are then presented back to the interviewees so that the concepts can be evaluated and result in new areas of interest. From this, the goal of minimizing the operators need to usage of a control room is established. The solution to this problem manifests as three AR-compatible functions: Stops and alarms, monitoring of process data and monitoring of machine data. To demonstrate these functions, the necessary software is developed in Unity. From interviews following the demontrations, a great interest of the developed functions is shown by personnel in the industry. Further research should aim to further develop the software towards a usable application and investigate and evaluate the practical implementation and potential of its functions.
