Abstract

The project comprises of the creation of unique Deemonz floorball blades for different playing styles. The approach for the project was to first define the problem (the reason to why new floorball blades need to be made) and create boundaries that were important to gain further in-depth knowledge and quality-oriented work. Furthermore, a market study was conducted in order to provide great knowledge on the topic of floorball blades and IFF’s floorball-blade rules (these were carefully researched and then added to the requirements). Subsequently, a customer survey was created through an interview with floorball players and communication with the company that issued the assignment. This further provided that a requirement specification could be created to specify the limitations on the blade. Afterwards, the concept generation phase began, in which concepts were created through brainstorming and these concepts were analyzed in order to then be able to choose the most suitable concepts to proceed with. Three different concepts were selected and these were further analyzed by CAD modeling and then stress and deformation analysis could be performed. Thereafter, a final concept was chosen to proceed with and this concept was improved by altering the properties. This resulted in a final model that fits different types of floorball players, depending on the hook and scaling
