Design and Development of an Electri cally Actuated Gear Shifting Sys

Abstract

This bachelor thesis examines a potential implementation of an electrical actuator in a gear shifting system. The EPT gearbox has been provided by Volvo Group Trucks Technology whereupon selected components requires a potential reconstruction. The final result has been achieved using research methodology, concept generation and construction of components. The study shows that an implementation of the electric actuator is possible with a orientation similar to today’s pneumatic one.
