dc.description.abstract | Smart Factories is a publicly funded project aimed towards constructing a pair of prototype connected factories, where visitors can order cardboard VR-glasses using a mobile application. In collaboration with this project, a Hololens application was created which allows the user to interact with a virtutal model of the factory, and obtain information about its different components. The application also served to demonstrate the capabilities of the HoloLens platform on behalf of Cybercom Group, who hosted its development. The result was presented to the project members at the unveiling of the first factory at Lindholmen. This report describes the modular architecture of the application, and lastly, discusses the potential and limitations of using HoloLens for industrial purposes. | |
