Sammanfattning
As a response to an increase in antimicrobial resistance within veterinary care, Odin well aims to introduce their bacteria measurement technology as a more effective
solution for diagnosing and treatment selection. This thesis explores the redesign of
the Odinwell handheld scanner as well as the development of an exchangeable tip
solution, for use within veterinary care. With a human-centered design approach,
the project features theoretical studies, benchmarking, interviews, observations, and
user testing to understand the specific needs within veterinary care.
Based on the findings, the scanner body was redesigned to create a more intuitive
and usable product. The redesign features a new grip shape for improved ergonomics
as well as a new overall body shape for improved usability. Additionally, a digital
interface design combined with a larger screen and redesigned button layout was
created, allowing increased functionality and better user interaction. Finally, a
single use tip solution was developed, providing the veterinarian with an effective
way of preventing cross contamination between patients
