Sammanfattning
The objective of this thesis is to describe the development of The Elder Crown, a game aimed at exploring the concept of arti cial intelligence and Multi-Agent Systems, while using the Belief-Desire-Intention model. The game depicts a world containing one or more inhabited villages which the player, as a god, reigns over. Unlike most games today, where the entertainment has its core in the player interaction, The Elder Crown is intended to have its enjoyment based on simulating a complex and unpredictable environment, with a small amount of interactive options. This means that although the player has the role of a god, she will be far from omnipotent, and cannot be sure what consequences her actions will have. The main goal of the Elder Crown have been to create a simulation, based on a well designed game engine, that would make intricate story generation possible. Although this goal was not fully met, the resulting product contains relevant features, as well as future possibilities for expansion. These expansion possibilities will also be discussed.
