dc.description.abstractThe façade is clad in Siberian larch, which has weathered from golden brown to a silver-grey patina. Rather than resisting time, the material embraces aging, allowing the building to evolve with its surroundings. The wooden planks are fastened in a rhythmic pattern referencing stitching techniques found in traditional Sámi duodji craft. This detail introduces a human-scale reading of the building. Concrete forms the foundation, with a sandblasted surface exposing stone aggregates and visually anchoring the structure in the landscape. Symbolically, the concrete expresses permanence, an architectural declaration of lasting presence. Yet this permanence invites critical reflection regarding environmental impact.
