dc.description.abstract | In this master’s thesis, the K-homology of classifying spaces of finite groups and analytical surgery of finite groups are studied. The first part of the thesis introduces the theory necessary to formulate the main results. The main results, i.e. the calculation of the K-homology of the classifying space of a finite group and a generalization to certain infinite groups, are found in Chapter 5. In addition to the presentation of theoretical tools, examples are discussed to aid the reader’s intuition. The intended audience is graduate students with basic understanding of topology and functional analysis. | sv |
