dc.description.abstractThis report describes the result and work progress of a bachelor thesis work for the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology at Chalmers University of Technology. The main goal of the project is to create an application to observe different processes that can take place at e.g. a lumber mill. The processes that the application is optimized for is drying processes observed by the MC Pro 2400, developed by SCS Forest Products Inc. and strength grading processes performed by the Dynalyse AB developed systems Dynagrade and Precigrader. The information gathered from the apparatus were to be presented in an easy understandable manner in a web application. To succeed with this, the application were written in Visual Studio 2013 and was built on the .NET framework. The backend part of the application is written in C# and the frontend is created by using CSHTML, JavaScript and CSS3. To manage all the parts of the application it was chosen that the Model-View-Controller design pattern (MVC) were to be used. This means that all project files will be divided up depending on what task the file in question have. MVC will give the application an easy to work with appearance and functionality can be added and deleted with little effort.
