As the world is moving into a new era of digitization, the importance of having experience within the field of programming is increasing. Therefore, The Swedish National Agency for Education (Skolverket) extended the curriculum for Swedish elementary school to include programming in the subject of mathematics. However, teachers in mathematics in general lack the knowledge of how to program, and there are few tools available today for students to learn programming in a sense that keeps it closely related to mathematics. Thus, new tools are in high demand to meet this need. The solution presented in this paper is a tool for both teaching and learning programming in the subject of mathematics. It is supposed to be both pedagogical and inventive, as well as enjoyable. It was also developed to give math teachers the possibility to teach programming without the need of being experts themselves. Interviews and user tests were conducted to find out what the tool needed to include and what to avoid. The interviews were planned and carried out with relevant people in the area, such as teachers and lecturers in mathematics didactics. Finally, with inspiration from these people a prototype was made. In the end, the finished prototype was constructed with drag-and-drop programming, since users should not focus on typing correct code but rather learning the concepts and semantics of programming. The prototype was met with an overall positive attitude by both teachers and students. However, to fully master its potential, supplementary training for teachers from the Swedish National Agency of Education is highly essential.
