dc.description.abstractThis report has investigated to what extent the software of the Control Computers in a DP System are the initial factor for incidents with DP Vessels in Offshore Operations and if there are any deficiencies in how the analysis of the DP Vessel is conducted, regarding this software. The report will show that software initiated incidents occur and that the complexity of the liaison of the software in the Control Computers will give an imaginary redundancy. This also gives that the software isn’t analysed according to the requirements of a DP System.
