Abstract
In order to maintain the performance of the vehicle, detecting defective components and then informing the driver which parts should be changed is becoming more important. The target is to inform the driver through vehicle information system, when major components that are subject to wear and need changing. The area of
focus in this thesis is Suspension components, e.g. dampers, springs and bushes. The plan is to detect defective suspension components by using the change in the transfer function from new to worn components and the target is to find a way to measure the change in transfer function and then inform the driver when it is time to change components.
