Abstract

This thesis discusses alternative delivery solution for the e-grocery business in Sweden. In the background we give an outline of the business and the logistical aspects that is regarded by the e-grocers. Furthermore, distributional layouts that can be adhered to by the e-grocers are presented based in earlier theoretical research that has been carried out in the field. With regards to the purpose of this thesis, we ask the question of what delivery solutions that can be used by the e-grocers in order to increase the order flexibility for the customer, and how these relate to the supply chain. The approach to answer these question rests on interviews and literature review of earlier research. The results show that there indeed are several delivery solutions that can be used, but that the implementation of these are driven by factors such as the size of the customer base, population density and costs.
