dc.description.abstractThe purpose of this project was to develop a software solution which will aid dentists in estimating dental costs. To make these estimations, complex regulations are used. These regulations are not static, which implies that the implementation must be adaptable. The project was client based and conducted with the Dental Service Organization in the County of Jönköping as the client. The program was developed in close collaboration with the client. Working with a client entails challenges which were not all easily foreseen. It has been an educational experience unlike that of any other project the group members have previously performed, more grounded in the reality of working as a software engineer. The importance of good communication has never been so clear, as well as that of planning and staying on schedule. The result of the project is a desktop application written in Java. While most of the functionality specified in the requirements have been implemented, there is one key feature missing.
