Sammanfattning

This thesis focuses on various methods for transportation within production environments. In Chalmers University there is a laboratory called the SII-lab, the main goal of SII-lab is to create a factory that produces flying drones. Here, kitting and assembly processes need to be supplied with materials. This thesis deals with the internal transports within SII-lab that help supply the kitting and assembly processes with materials. The purpose of this thesis is to study indoors transportation methods through an appliance of digital aid. Before the simulation could be done there needed to be some background studies. In this paper both kitting strategies and transportation methods were studied in order for the group to dive deeper into the concept of indoor transportation. With the new information that had been gathered the two students went onto simulate the project and results were achieved. The results are presented in the report about which transportation method would be the most optimal with the current layout and some improvement proposals were also brought up in the end. It is also thought that the simulation model will be passed down for further research about the subject.
