Abstract
This project aimed to develop a prototype to simulate cross-country skiing on water, thereby enabling a new
way of skiing. Through an iterative product development approach, multiple prototypes were tested and evaluated
to achieve an authentic skiing experience by engaging similar muscle groups and replicating the technique
used in skiing on snow. Various concepts for hull shape, propulsion, and stability were explored, leading
to a wide range of ideas and possibilities. Decisions were made to exclude electric propulsion, resulting in a
prototype consisting solely of skis and poles. Valuable insights were obtained from various external sources,
including manufacturers and professors in fluid mechanics.With support from the team and perseverance, the
initial idea evolved into a full-scale prototype made of carbon fiber. Despite encountering challenges due to
ambitious timelines, many ideas with potential remain unexplored, which future stakeholders can consider
