dc.description.abstractAccording to Statens Väg- och Transportforskningsinstitut [1], the human factor plays a part in up to 95 percent of today’s car accidents where 33-53 percent of all recorded cases is due to the individual's own perceptions and standards. In today’s car industry there are autonomous vehicles that reduce the human factor. These autonomous vehicles do not eliminate it though as the technology is not yet stable nor safe enough to be used in certain environments and situation. Communication between vehicles may need to play a role in the future to reduce the risk and increase the reliability. This thesis aims to examine the possibilities of a software solution that handles the communication across multiple vehicles. The methodology encompasses a pre-study to evaluate the possibilities, system architecture and an implementation. The result is a software solution that handles communication between multiple vehicles where data security is taken into consideration. The vehicles also communicate with a server which purpose is to facilitate the encryption of data and verification of units. Further development ideas are position based decision making and communication with infrastructure.
