Abstract

This report aims towards developing a convenient shallow water anchor whilst keeping the costs down. The anchor is supposed to fit leisure boats with a length up to six meters long, in depths of maximum five meters. The current market for those types of anchors are growing but most of the products are very expensive. With a market evaluation and a poll, the current market is analyzed to see if there are any ideas that could be implemented into the new concepts. The newly generated concepts are later screened to decide what concept to build upon. With the concept choice made, much effort goes into product development with choices of materials, dimensions and design to make the product attractive. Some FEM-analyzes has been performed to see how the product cope with different loads. The project has mainly been performed in Conmore’s headquarter, with the main question; can a shallow water anchor be developed that is very convenient but not as expensive as the ones already on the market?
