Sammanfattning
The content of this report deals with product development of an electric scooter holder. The
main purpose of the project was to develop a holder that was compatible with the majority of
electric scooters on the market. But also, capable of preventing dirt and water from ending up
on the interior of the vehicle. Through several different product development methods, such
as morphological matrices, Pugh, Kesselring and elimination matrices, a final concept was
achieved.
The project was carried out for Conmore ingenjörsbyrå AB and the background to the project
was that the client wanted a smart way to transport electric scooters. The report therefore
includes everything from market research to a finished final concept.
One of the big challenges with the project was to produce all the data needed to make the
holder according to the right dimensions so that it was compatible with the majority of
electric scooters on the market today. There were also difficulties in collecting data on
dimensions regarding both the rear seat and the trunk space in cars, since some car companies
would not share this information.
Six different concepts with several different structures and ISOFIX setups were created
during the concept generation process, all of which were modeled in the CAD program Catia
V5. After the concept selection method had been carried out, only one concept remained,
which also became a mockup. The final concept was further developed with the feedback that
emerged through the assembly of the mockup.
