dc.description.abstractThis project has been done together with AFRY within the department of Industrial and Digital solutions, by the section of BAARD 3. The main goal was to develop a drainage solution for an HVAC-module applied within automotive and this solution should be able to fit four different types of vehicles. The solution should lead the condensed water from the HVAC outlet through the chassis. A tube should then be mounted on bottom of the product to further on lead the water away from the car. This conn The delivery of this solution also includes manufacturing aspects and cost analysis, in order to deliver a complete solution for the client. Analyzing both material, and manufacturing aspects were a large part of the process to finally achieve the most optimal solution. The Four different types of solutions which were achieved, responds to the properties of the four different types of vehicles. The drainage solution is thought as being processed as two different parts, and then mounted together with a clip solution – yes it will be fully sealed. This was the most adequate solution which helps to make the manufacturing process simpler. An important delimitation is to not consider strength computations and such, since the drainage solution will not be exposed to any strong lasting forces or fatigue. Finally, all conclusions have been drawn based on our own experience and knowledge, together with insightful discussions, and input from several colleagues at AFRY.
