PersonAlarm Överfallsskydd för iPhone

Abstract

The presented thesis seeks to clarify the development of PersonAlarm. PersonAlarm is an application built for the iOS platform. In today’s society there is an unfortunate fear of walking home alone or visiting particular areas. Therefore there is a growing need of systems, tools or aids to reduce this fear. This is where PersonAlarm enters the picture and attempts to diminish this fear. The application gives the user a way of inviting friends to ’follow’ his or her way home through their iPhones. Thus reducing the fear of being alone in certain situations. The development and need of the application was based off the feedback received from a field survey. User tests have also proven the app necessary and useful. This thesis describes the development of this application from pre-studies to its conclusion and discussion. The bachelors group came across several obstacles and these are presented within the thesis.
