Jollyroom AB is a big e-commerce company within the child- and baby product market, with warehouses and offices in the outskirts of Gothenburg. The rapid expansion of the company has led to some of the internal processes being outgrown or rendered obsolete and therefore the internal processes need to be examined and analyzed. The purpose of this report is to lay the groundwork for further growth by mapping one of the most crucial processes within the company: the supply of goods – from manufacturer to customer. The result of this mapping will then be analyzed to find potential areas of improvement. Three departments were identified as central for the supplying-of-goods process, Purchasing, Supply chain and Logistics. A literature study of processes in general, methods for mapping processes and tools for analyzing them was performed. This was followed by interviews with leaders within the purchasing department, followed by a workshop with employees of the department. The result of this workshop was then digitalized in Microsoft Visio. This procedure was repeated with both the Supply chain and Logistics departments (with two workshops for Logistics). The analysis resulted in several suggested improvements to tackle the largest identified issues: Outdated or incorrect master data, Complicated flow when creating purchase orders as well as unnecessary authorizations.
