| dc.description.abstract | Poppels Bryggeri has undergone changes affecting the company’s logistics. As production volumes have increased, shortcomings in warehouse structure, material flows and working methods have become apparent. The warehouse is perceived as disorganized and capacity as limited, while warehouse operations depend on specific personnel. This makes warehouse management vulnerable and limits the ability to handle production needs. The purpose of the study is to investigate how material flows and storage can be more efficient to simplify daily work and create conditions for growth. The study began with planning, where the problem and scope were defined. A theoretical framework was developed within warehouse management, material flows, layout, lean, 5S, standardization and ABC analysis. Data was collected through interviews, observations and company documentation. The material was used in a current state analysis, where problem areas were identified and analyzed to determine causes and develop improvement proposals. The results show that the problems are mainly related to a lack of order and structure, inefficient material flows, insufficient standardization and personnel-dependent working methods. To address these problems, measures based on the 5S methodology, clearer item placement, improved routines and more standardized working methods are proposed. In some cases, equipment limits the work, and minor investments are recommended. Layout proposals were developed to improve the use of warehouse volume and create more efficient material flows. The study shows that Poppels Bryggeri can meet its storage needs within existing premises. Together, these measures can improve material flows and storage, making the warehouse better prepared for increased production volumes | |
