Sammanfattning
This project explores current and potential future driver awareness systems. The aim
was to investigate how such systems are perceived by users and to develop a concept
that enhances driver awareness without increasing cognitive load. A combination
of interviews, questionnaires, benchmarking, and literature studies were done to
gather relevant understanding and insights. The findings suggest that users desire
more information while maintaining a sense of control, particularly regarding areas
outside the driver’s current field of vision in existing blind spots. It also suggest that
existing awareness systems can be improved through a reconstruction of feedback.
The final concept, Argus, provides increased spatial awareness through ambient
light and communicates information about the surroundings in an intuitive and
non-intrusive way.
