In today’s industries, lifting devices are common and often necessary. There are various types of lifting devices, ranging from cranes, forklifts, robots, and conveyors. Hofpartner’s lifting device Liongrip X is one of their newest and largest industrial lifting devices. Liongrip X can manually handle loads of up to 800kg and has high precision due to its multi-jointed arm, which provides a large range of motion. Today, Liongrip X is equipped with a control panel where the lift is operated using two industrial SpaceMouse controls. SpaceMouse is a commonly used CAD tool but is also used as a control device for industrial purposes. SpaceMouse can be easy to handle for those who are experienced, but users of Liongrip X have encountered difficulties in controlling the lift. On behalf of the manufacturer Hofpartner, this work will involve product development of handles integrated with SpaceMouse. The issue with Liongrip X is how the user handles the SpaceMouse. The SpaceMouse is programmed with specific degrees of freedom. Movements forward, backward, up, down, and sideways are programmed for the lift. A movement that doesn’t register is tilting forward or backward or sideways. In this report, tilt, tilting, and tilt function will be mentioned several times. The meaning of this is that the SpaceMouse is subjected to a rotational movement corresponding to tilting, similar to a ”joystick”. The product development for this work will focus on finding a solution that prevents tilting and provides an ergonomic handle for the user. The work has been carried out step by step according to a product development methodology. The first part of the work describes the product as a whole from the customer’s perspective and provides a clear picture of the different functions of the lift. Further on, the work shifts focus solely to the concept development of a handle
