Sammanfattning
Construction Site Layout Planning (CSLP) plays an important role in how
construction projects are carried out, especially in urban environments with limited
space. Despite this, site layout plans are often treated as static, and planning
tends to be reactive rather than based on systematic understanding of movement
flow and their impact on productivity. The aim of this study is to analyze how
the planning and design of site layout plans in urban infrastructure projects affect
productivity in terms of time losses and costs. The study also aims to develop
a checklist that can support a more structured approach to CSLP. The study
was conducted using a qualitative approach where a review of previous research
was combined with interviews and a document analysis of site layout plans. The
findings show that CSLP is influenced by several factors, such as surrounding
environment, space constraints, project-specific conditions and safety requirements.
In addition, the design of the construction site has a clear impact on productivity
through time losses related to unnecessary movement, rework and relocation of
temporary facilities. The findings further indicate that CSLP is largely based on
experience. To address this, a checklist was developed aimed to support a more
structured and systematic approach to CSLP by highlighting important aspects.
