Sammanfattning
Today, there are several established solutions for heating homes and properties on the
Swedish market, with district heating being the most dominant. The system is reliable and
efficiently delivers hot water to the user. However, many of these solutions involve
transporting hot water long distances through pipes, where heat energy is often lost. The
water is heated but may lose temperature before reaching the user, resulting in energy losses.
In larger buildings, the waiting time for hot water can also become so long that the user may
finish washing their hands before the water has even become warm.
Vyse Tech is a startup company with the vision of developing a new solution for water
heating through the use of additive manufacturing. The company requested an interactive
interface that visualizes their decentralized water heater, where the water is heated directly at
the point of use.
The project began with a preliminary study that included stakeholder and market analyses, as
well as interviews, in order to gain an understanding of potential users and their needs. Based
on the results of the preliminary study, requirements were formulated to guide the subsequent
concept development process. During the ideation phase, wireframes and rapid prototyping
were used in combination with work in the software Figma. The developed concept was
evaluated and iterated through user testing and meetings with the company.
The result is an interactive interface in the form of an informational webpage that can be
implemented on the company’s existing website. The interface is organized into different
sections adapted to stakeholder needs and aims to provide users with a deeper understanding
of how the decentralized water heater functions and interacts with existing water systems
through interactive features, visualizations, and descriptive information.
