Sammanfattning
Quality Assurance (QA) checks are important in ensuring medical equipment func tions properly. The complex and irregular environment the checks are carried out in
places high utility and usability demands on QA products. In this project a design
concept is developed for the next generation RaySafe DXR+, a QA tool for aligning
an X-ray machine’s visual light with its radiation field. The focus of the design con cept is improving user experience and usability, specifically aimed at the Swedish
market. A five phase iterative design process is described. The phases involve an ini tial user study, ideation and prototyping, a usability study, refinement of the design
concept and validation. A list of requirements is developed alongside the concept.
The result is a detailed design concept and an extensive list of requirements. Final
evaluations indicate that the concept is a significant improvement and suits its QA
task very well. Future work includes adapting the design to decrease production
costs and evaluate it with international users.
